Home Buyers Report
As of the 1st of June 2007, homes in England and Wales have needed to arrange a home information pack (HIP) on their homes before it is put up for sale.
A drainage survey can be included in this report.
GoEnviro provide a report that includes recommendations and quotations for any remedial work required. This report can in turn assist in negotiating a better price dependent upon any work required.
There are two forms of survey the first is a simple look-see survey, best done with the customer there on site so that problems can be clarified and explained. The second is a full survey report including a DVD showing the CCTV survey of the drain system.
In situations where the drainage is not linked to the main sewage system our report will cover the treatment of sewage on site and how effective it is and whether it is sufficient to cover Building Regulations and the Environment Agency requirements.
A suitable time for acquiring a report of this nature is when purchasing a new home or property, when it is vital to ensure that there is an adequate and legal drainage system.
Too often these issues are overlooked prior to the exchange of contracts after which it is too late to recoup costs if the existing foul system is illegal, inadequately sized, failing or even not present.
A Homebuyers Report can assist in identifying these issues early on, and to support or resolve any legal matters such as an incorrectly installed tank, drains laid without fall or an under sized system.
Build Over Survey
Whether you are laying new footings or having a driveway resurfaced a survey of your drains may highlight any previously unknown problems or act as a suitable base line for ensuring a contractor doesn’t cause damage to them.
Its far easier to cure a drain problem during a building project than it is having to try and sort it out after completion of a project.
