Drain Jetting and drain jet cleaning service from GoEnviro
High pressure drain jetting is a fast, economical and environmentally friendly method of drain cleaning (flush drain) and to keep your drains clear of any blockages and free of any problems
With high pressure drain flushing and cleaning , water is forced through a nozzle at a high pressure to clean and flush out the inside of the drain, this can also be referred to as drain jetting, HP jetting and HP drain cleaning, HP flushing, High Pressure flushing and drain flushing.
Our vans carry a jetter that will supply approximately 12 gallons per minute at approximately 3000 psi, which is a lot of water to drain flush well, and if not used properly can cause some damage.
While dealing with drain problems in South Wales we regularly encounter deposits of fat and grease. These deposits develop in a similar manor to that of cholesterol in our arteries, continually reducing the diameter of the drain, which continues until another object, often wet wipes, gets caught in the reduced diameter of the drain run and creates a very effective plug.
It is not always immediately evident that this has happened because there is a certain amount of storage space within the drainage system that can hold the water being flushed away, this water slowly passes thru the blockage creating further storage space, but also leaves the solids behind, which in the case of wet wipes can cause a substantial blockage which can be difficult to clear.
If wet wipes are likely to be the cause then it is often apparent when the lid to the manhole or inspection chamber is lifted, and dependent upon the initial results of the high pressure jetting it may be better to use an electromechanical steel spring, to remove the wet wipes, and then jet to flush the blocked drain.
Drain cleaning and jetting is a fast, effective way of clearing most blockages including fat and grease build up with a drain flush.
The length of time required to clean a drain and drain flush is dependent upon several factors
- the type of material being held in the drain
- the quantity of the material build up within the drain
- the diameter of the drain
- the length of the drain run
- the accessibility to the drain run
- accessibility of a water supply
In most instances the length of time required to clean out a drain run is not long if a regular maintenance contract is set up, as a regular drain flush (clean) of the system keeps the problem at bay preventing fats from becoming to hard, and allowing silts to wash away with the drain flush.
Ignoring drainage problems is not beneficial. If your toilet is slow to flush or making gurgling sounds then that is often the first indication of a blockage, and should be investigated as soon as possible. Often the problem can be resolved very quickly in these instances, but if left a simple problem can become a far more complicated and expensive problem.
If drain blockages are occurring frequently then it is advisable to drain flush as part of a preventative maintenance plan, on completion of the drain jetting you should then have the line CCTV surveyed, usually this is included and does not cost any extra. At this point the drainage engineer should be able to identify the cause of any problems, and advise on how the blockages can be prevented.
